The Government now require Nurseries to show how funded hours and the charges around these are delivered in a more detailed and transparent way.

Early Years Childcare for 3-5 year old’s – Working Families
All 3 to 4-year-olds in England receive 570 hours of free early education or childcare per year. It is usually taken as 15 hours per week x 38 weeks of the year (term time) but we stretch the free entitlement as full wraparound care over 51 weeks of the year. This means that instead of 15 free hours per week over 38 weeks you will receive 11.20 free hours per week over 51 weeks.
Please note that at My Sunshine Day Nursery & Pre-School in order for you to access our stretched wraparound Universal 15 hour Funded Care Programme we require you to attend Nursery for a minimum of 2 Full Days.
Extended 30 Hours Funding
We are pleased to be able to offer an extra 15 hours to ALL parents that meet the required local authority criteria and can provide us with their Richmond Council Eligibility Code. This would then provide a total of 30 hours free childcare per week.
At My Sunshine Day Nursery & Pre-School we stretch the free entitlement as full wraparound care over 51 weeks of the year. This means that instead of 30 hours per week over 38 weeks you will receive 22.4 hours per week over 51 weeks.
Please note that in order for you to access our stretched wraparound Extended 30 hour funded care programme we require you to attend Nursery for a minimum of 3 Full Days.
9 Month to 2 Year Funding – Working Families
Working families can apply for this funding. If you are eligible for this type of funding, from September 2025 your child will receive 30 funded hours for the 38 weeks of term time, which equates to up to 22.40 hours per week for the 51 weeks My Sunshine is open.
Please note that at My Sunshine Day Nursery & Pre-School in order for you to access our stretched wraparound working families 9 month to 2 year old funded hours we require you to attend Nursery for a minimum of 3 Full Days.
